How many blog posts should I upload per week

I am in the process of deciding how many blog posts to post per week for a couple of the sites I manage.

Is there any real number I should stick with or is all that matters consistency?

Thanks for any help.

No magic number, sorry. The content decides the value. Post when you have more to write about.

Having a schedule (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) will help encourage SEs to respond in kind. How many is up to you, how creative, or how often before burnout occurs is not a real number. Burnout DOES happen, so keep that in mind and take a break when the time arrives. AT SOME POINT one has said all they can say about a subject without falling into the spiral of repetition upon repeat. Been there, done that!

On the other hand, if you have access to OTHER writers, hopefully as gifted as you, taking turns can stave off the burnout potential and increase the output---AND might even spark new ideas and articles. Also been there, done that!

On average, if asked, my reply is at least once a week for articles of length. Daily thoughts <250 words are also useful. What is MOST important is that the content is fresh, unique, and compelling. That's where the gold is as far as being found and gaining repeat visitors, and making the AI bots and search engines joyful.

You've answered your own question. One site I manage is updated every Sunday and has been for nigh on 20 years with the occasional mid-week update maybe once a month. Certainly G knows this since it visits every Sunday and shows within 24 hours.

Ok, this is for a brochure website home page but it is no different to a blog, simply ensure your new blog page is linked from your home page whether it's once a day / week / month. Evergreen sites do not need to do this until they add more relevant information. Sites with blog pages several layers deep may easily not get picked-up as fast.

As tangor says "burnout does happen" and especially so when / if trying to add too much all the time ... A long walk with a Husky is a great solution to this :-)

Burnout is a risk.
We started with too high expectations only to stop a month or two later when the ideas dried up.
My feeling is when that happens, do take a pause.
It is better to pause than to churn out rubbish which could devalue your site.
