Anti-scraping?

Ask the question why people turn off Java Script: Security when web browsing. Is this going to make web browsing for users less secure? I'm not sure that the average user even knows about Java Script.

@universenet, no. Not for adsense.
They force you not to disallow JS if you want to search anything using G.

But it is YES
Google forcing people not block ads ( and javascript)
Who block ads will not see ads but will not be possible search on google too
So google want clean blockers
All adsense is made with ".js"

If anyone has a website and hasn't been using JS on their website to improve UX for the last 20 years your website must be pretty crusty and dated! I remember way back when I was trained in web development at the dawn of the web (classic ASP times lol) and you had to ensure the site functioned with and without JS for the 0.01% of users who could even work out how to disable it! Does anyone still turn off JS, what a terrible experience of the web that must be!

Does anyone still turn off JS,

Hand held high, in fact waving madly!

HTML, CSS and PERL does great for many, no js needed. Personally run NoScript (selective js/ads/third party killer) and pick and chose what top level (site main) js is allowed----can still surf rather pleasantly.

Meanwhile, I'm not the only one ... a few browsers are now going default js off with options to allow domain level js on case by case basis. As to the specific thread, g is not my default search engine so no worries, however, I do visit from time to time and have no difficulties since js AT G ITSELF is ticked "on", but all other third party js fails---and search presently works just fine.
