One of my websites home page is showing 404 error but the pages is indexed, selfcanonicalized and properly inspected by GSC with no issues. How do i get rid of this isses and what action needs to be taken for this

Where do you see the 404 error? I mean if all is fine in GSC, where do you see the 404? What do you see if you paste the URL in a browser?
Is this the same error as previously discussed? I mean it sounds the same as [webmasterworld.com...]

when i check the cache version of the page i.e. "cache:https://www...." i see 404 error. But the home page is getting traffic and it is also read by GSC properly with no issues

cache: is a Google "operator" like "site": - but most operators have a required format and the cache operator does not use any http/https protocol. Keep in mind that Google deprecated several of their operators so not all of their operators work today.

This means that the cache page wasn't found. It doesn't mean that the page itself can't be found.

What that means is you should try to check cache using "cache:example.com..." and leave off the "https://www." part of your search. As mentioned, not all Google search operators are functional - no guarantees.
