So I noticed Google was showing some of my articles in the Latest from section.

Sweet, aside from the fact they are showing articles 6 days old and 1 week. Yet we publish daily. So is this Google deciding which of my content should be shown?

The newer articles are already in Serp.

Seems the more I pay attention to Google or use there services the less impressed I become day in day out.

Also noticed the site search for this site uses Bing, so maybe thats all I need to know.

Joy with g is come and go. Sometimes nice, mostly not.

Meanwhile, with the new push by g for AI, the cluttered serps, and all that litigation going on it might be more time and effort suitable to post to the users and BLOCK any rips of your content. :)

We live in amazing times and will just have to see how this all plays out.

To me "seo" means "don't do something stupid". That MIGHT mean not chasing g serps, among other considerations.
