@Fluff_Nutz
In my niche I often see the same sites at the top. Over and over. Its like these updates are rigged.
At the risk of repeating many of my posts one has to remember that G supposedly attempts to deliver its best results for that specific searcher and in the vast majority of cases this means localisation and especially so for Joe Public searches and purchases.
Therefore, especially so in the case of the USA its largest English language audience by far, its US G "commercial" sites will tend to dominate its SERPs likewise in the UK our SERPs, especially so in my industry, UK companies prevail. This is the same for many other countries and languages and, yes, quite often G screws-up and inserts a US site in completely inappropriate countries however I can tell you this has improved enormously in the past few years.
The most significant issue I see on a daily basis is that of G not knowing what to do with global bulk B2B sites such as my industry that involves thousands of manufacturers exporting to many countries. Fortunately I'm in a very well-established industry not subject to weekly / monthly fashion whims and demands plus most international buyers realised years ago that a generalised search was not enough, specifics need to be queried and my sites reflect this from the md 90s.
If you want to have some fun get a VPN that allows one to specify a different country VPN location and then do a search!
