We just discovered that for our niche in the travel section there are some english keywords that have quite high Search Volume and that are directly related to what we offer, so I was wondering: Given a page that is completely written in a certain language and also specified with the html lang tag for that language, could it still include landing pages that focus on english keywords? And if so, would the text then be written in the original language or also in english?

Im pretty ambiguous about it, because I guess people who use that search term want to see english content. But then the issue would be that our products on the landing pages are still shown in german, which might seem quite confusing in the end.

Here are some suggestions to help you navigate this situation:

User Intent: Consider the intent of users searching for those English keywords. If they are specifically looking for English content related to your niche, it may be beneficial to provide landing pages in English. This can enhance the user experience and meet their expectations.

Consistency: It's important to maintain consistency throughout your website. If you decide to include landing pages in English, ensure that the overall user experience remains coherent. It might be confusing for users if the landing pages are in English but the products or information provided are in German. Strive for consistency in language across the entire user journey.

Clear Navigation: If you choose to have landing pages in English, make sure that users can easily navigate to and from these pages. Provide clear links or buttons for users to switch between languages and access the content that suits their preferences.

Localization: If you have the resources, consider localizing your landing pages in English. This means translating not only the keywords but also the content on the landing pages, including product descriptions. Providing a seamless experience in the user's preferred language can enhance engagement and conversions.

Testing and Analytics: Monitor the performance of your landing pages to assess the impact of English content on user engagement and conversion rates. Use analytics tools to track user behavior and analyze whether the inclusion of English landing pages is positively impacting your website's goals.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your specific audience, resources, and goals. Assess the potential benefits and challenges of including English landing pages and consider the preferences and expectations of your target audience. By understanding their needs and optimizing the user experience, you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Just avoid peppering language specific pages with English keywords just to get eyeballs. It needs to make sense for ALL USERS when incorporated.

Thank you for the suggestions! Btw: For now we came to the conclusion to not include english keywords to keep our page unified.
