Hi all,

I can't seem to lower the Sped Index values. What do you think is the effect of this value on SEO?

Thanks

Can you provide some specific numbers for the approximate page load speeds of the most important pages of your website. This would tell us how serious the problem is.

Hi TurkiyeSEO and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

The Speed Index is measuring how fast your pages load above the fold so anything at the top if the page that relies on remote or 3rd party content can cause that loading to be slower. Large images, an un-optimized logo or calling in unnecessary resources before the content can slow it down. This affects the user experience negatively so it means that is worth more effort to load that content faster than you are loading it if you want to improve SEO.

Your CSS can make an absolutely huge image look like it fits right in but it might mean that offering various sizes can speed it up - a lot.

How much the effect counts on page ranking is not known, other than:

The longer it takes, the less desirable result.

What VALUE and where the break points are located is not etched in stone anywhere.

As suggested, it would help to know what the speed index is? If you're already showing very good, there's not much more you can do. If it's one specific aspect, there may be ways to resolve that.

For years Google has promoted the idea of fast-loading sites, and it wouldn't do that if it wasn't playing a part in the indexing and ranking, even if only a small part.

Here's a link to one of its tools to help analyse a site's page speed. [pagespeed.web.dev...]
