Hi I hope you are well today !

you see zillow and trulio both have 95% same content, high seo rankings and never got any google penalty, since double content is forbidden ?

Back to the topic what to you think will work at best;
Same niche but several services.

a) Hubspot methods ranking well, showing up multiple posts in the serps with their subdomains and their category pages on the subdomain (bblog) .

b) zillow and trulio, build 2-3 of such fantasy name domaines, with slightly 10% rewritten content ?

c) using personal name on multiple domains like Dan Lok, he is showing up multiple times in the serps, he has category pages and domains like; danlokshow.com, etc,etc....

Examples here for my name markus/mark/marks would be:
markcoaching (main site with category pages)
markcasts (podcasts)
marktyping (copywriting) etc,etc you get the idea ..

interlink them all in the footer of each website, Lifehacker(com) is doing this for their multuple domains.

d) having short memorable fantasy domain names like zillow, blubbs, squazzy, etc,etc...you get the idea .

Google showing multiple listings of category pages , you see that on ecommerce websites.
And important note, google never says clearly that they prefer subdirectories for indexing and ranking.

What do you think, which of those methods above will be the best to get multiple listings in the serps ?
Be not sure, I struggle with setup my domain structure.

You get multiple listings in the serps with your brand name in social media too, so you dominate the first page....

Thank you so much and have a nice day !

@marco09 ... Welcome to Webmasterworld!

Sometimes a "brand" domain will rank in and of itself, provided the content is specific, actionable, and desired by the internet public. In that regard there are any number of link presentation that will provide good results.

On the other hand, if the site is a new startup, is not part of a corporate nature (such as the examples in the OP) then getting traction starts at zero and g will have to take time to see what the site is about and if it deserves any SEO love...

It's that "horse to water" adage: you can lead a search engine to links, but you can't make it rank.

another one I have today for you...

See Bloomberg is hillarious for his huge domain database. Check Bloomberg in google and whammm! First page full with Bloomberg domains, the firts multiple spots are Bloomberg/articles they are category pages I guess?

Scrolling down more different Bloomberg domains coming up in the serps.
I wonder Bloomberg does not interlinking their different domain name websites each in their footer?
All websites have same theme colors, same B logo....

Type in Bloomberg and his news or something, then big G is full with Bloomber/articles or Bloomberg/news multiple spots on the first page.
We take a little moment and deep breath; Was there not somethign in the google guidelines, they will showing only 1-2 spots of one domain in the serps ? Yes, till today.

How they can coming up multiple spots in the serps on same category? I think they have category pages like you see on ecommerce stores.

The rest , when you type in your name all domains with your name coming up include your social media profile....it's the same here.

Please not use irrational logics; "they have tons of backlinks, mass content or they exist 10 years ago blablabla"......

I try to understand their strategy behind it. My thoughts are when you have a short personal name with your domains, then with time after few months creating content, blogging on social media your name will be spread through the web and people recognize your name "brand".
Example;

johnsmedia
johnstec
johnsnews
johncasts
johnsphilosophy
etc,etc whatsoever......

Then they type in your name in google and all of your other domains will coming up too in the serps. (my theory) and on search queries too when you have category pages.

A big opportunity for you to get traget free traffic is,making your social media business page visible to G , so when you write text content (no visuals) this content will coming up with your profile name in google too.
Many have their social media business page hidden from G.

Now it's Friday and have Happy Weekend !
