In comparison, Bing wowed, investors noticed.

There is no excuse for a presenter forgetting an important demonstration prop, according to investor reaction. Google stock value fell as Google AI was being announced. Bing's presentation was much better in comparison,

Google's whole presentation was a shambles, not just the presenter having no tablet or the unforgiveable mistake in not checking that the 'facts' they presented were correct. Relatively little was said about their AI but much more about their 'successes', most of which, apart from advertising, lose massive sums of money - something investors are only too aware of.

They gave an impression of a company going off half cocked. It was clear that BARD or whatever it's name is isn't anywhere near ready for competing with MS AI products.

Desperation seems to be setting in with youtube videos packed with multiple ads flooding the SERPs and degrading the user experience. It is no wonder that so many of us are experiencing falling business. Are they grabbing every penny they can before ChatGPT, Indian, Korean and Japanese legal issues, the EU Digital Marketing Act (they will have to start complying with it soon, and 'lobbying' won't help in Europe!) etc etc etc slash their income? If you look at their accounts it's clear that cutting 12,000 jobs (does that include the 450 or so they just sacked in India?) may be only the start of their cost cutting.

I wonder if those who were responsible for the presentation were amongst those labelled 'least productive' and sacked with zero notice?

That presentation won't matter six months from now. In fact, it doesn't matter now to most Google users and customers. (As for investors, they'll be fine after a spell on their swooning couches.)

"YAY, BARD IS HERE"

.. said nobody.

Also, the CEO of YouTube just quit.

I think your 6 month prediction is optimistic, it all matters in this economy.

Six months is a very long time on the Internet.
