I recently updated a webpage with some changes. When I checked it using site: operator, SERPs reflects recent date which is true but when I made query on Google Search with "keyword" then same Web page shows OLD date. I can check cache version for both pages and they are different. Is it normal ?

Insofar as my sites are concerned nothing is "normal"! All sites are reacting differently in different markets, I am seeing some new pages spidered and ranking within a couple of days however I am also seeing extensively updated sites not showing updates after a couple of months.

The lastest core update seems to have thrown a massive spanner in the works for many sites but at the same time many sites have cruised along oblivious to the mess being created all around them.

I have both unaffected and affected sites and cannot ascertain as to why this has occurre and I'm also pretty convinced that G may not know too.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld rht999999

It's not at all unusual.
Spidering your new pages is different from an index (cache) update. It's good news your new page is updated, and Google will eventually get around to updating its index (cache), so you have to be patient.

welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com], rht999999!

are you certain those were precisely the same urls (including hostname) showing different cached contents in the SERP?
i've never seen this myself.

i'm not sure either of the responses above addressed two SERPs simultaneously showing different cached contents for the same url.

nothing in the OP about time-to-index...

rht999999 is already seeing the updated content in the cache - and the old content in cache - depending on the search terms...

Nope however G seems to be so out-of-sync with all kinds of issues that any other's observations or experiences may be reassurring since no one, except the favoured few, gets any assistance from G whatsoever which can lead to all sorts of speculation and possibly incorrect advice and opinion.
