How Long Is It Taking G To Update These Days?

I am not a news or an FMCG ecommerce site however on 1st June I updated a site and so far G has not updated them in its SERPs, DDG / Bing has started to.

Has the recent core update stopped regular site updating altogether since 4 weeks seems to be a long time for a well-established site?

Aha, no reponses! Does this mean no one knows or most are struggling with the same question?

No one has ever found out when the updates will expire
Google must inform us of this

Every site is different, and patterns of crawling become apparent. Do you know what the normal pattern is for the site in question?

It does feel like it's a little slower these days. I launched a client's revamped website about 10 days ago, it's only 14 pages large but a site: search still returns only 9 pages, one of those from the old website.

To be fair, it's a small business with only a few backlinks, and Bing has so far only updated the homepage, but still, I'm used to Google being a little quicker. Not sure if it's a recent thing, though, haven't done many launches or updates lately.

Do you know what the normal pattern is for the site in question?

This specific site usually had weekly spiderings / updates yet it has 60+ new pages none of which have yet even to be spidered plus many of the existing pages which have also been updated are yet to show this. It's almost as if with the core update for normal sites that updates stopped altogether.

Interestingly yesterday I was checking another site wondering what had happened to some of its pages and it actually showed a cache time and date of only 2 hours previous, maybe they've started again?

One of our sites is spdered almost daily since it has duily updates and that has not seen any difference in traffic nor rankings during the core update.

Obviously, until spidered it won't show any updates. What i'm trying to establish is whether it's still spidering at its normal frequency. If it is, and then due to revisit, we can move onto the next step which is reflecting the updates/changes.
If it's not been spidered you might need to send it some signals. eg, make sure the sitemap is suitable updated, or add a link elsewhere that will attract gbot so that the new pages can be discovered.

You can believe this or not however I assure you it's true.

I checked my SERPs for an exclusive widget to ascertain what was happening. The results was the #1 result was the reference on my sitemap ... I kid you not:

example.com/sitemap.xml
keyword1keyword2

I have never seen that before.

Further to my last post I have just checked half-a-dozen of my new keyword widgets in DDG and Bing and these are at #1 with a cache of 14th June 2022, these pages were launched 1st June, G would seem to be well-behind.

Meaning your sitemap.xml file appears in the search results?

I've seen that before but usually there's an issue with the sitemap file, e.g. it's not marked up correctly, the content-type is incorrect, etc. And make sure you're not linking to your sitemap file from anywhere on your site except maybe robots.txt.

Yep, I had never seen that before therefore the first thing I checked was its validity both visually and online, no issues.

As in my previous post Bing / DDG already have these pages ranking therefore, fingers crossed, I am assuming that G quite simply has a massive backlog of stuff to update due to only updating news / urgent stuff during the core update.

What else could be causing this?

Approaching saturation? CoVid delays? Workplace conditions (workers/time)? Webmaster Impatience?

I am now seeing updates across my main global site, in fact I saw a brand new page launched on Wednesday indexed and ranking about #15 on Friday, yes it is a low volume product, nonetheless it is reassurring to see something is happening for the first time since when, early / mid May ?
