Hi guys, I'm working as in-house SEO for a multinational e-commerce website.
We are selling our products on our website, Amazon, and through 200+ online retailers.
A lot of retailers have bad product pages for our products (wrong product name, poor descriptions etc.) and we (high management) want to offer them our content (both product descriptions from our webshop and our Amazon listings)
The main goal is to increase their conversion rate (from internal traffic), not to improve their SEO and rankings of (our) product pages.
Here are my thoughts:
1. If retailers will use our text for product pages it won't affect our SEO. There is a really big chance they won't even be ranked for the same keywords because Google will think they stole out content.
Regardless of the same or worse organic traffic, their conversion rate (from internal traffic) could increase especially if they have wrong/poor content now.
2. Same logic is for Amazon bullets. It can't affect our rankings on Amazon search engine, and it shouldn't outrank our Amazon PP-s on Google result pages (see point 1.)
3. We could add other high-volume keywords in their description but with that, we could improve their chances for better Google positions and that's how they could cannibalize our .com or amazon in theory, but it's highly unlikely.
If more retailers will add the same content it's less likely it will have negative effects on our webshop/amazon organic traffic.
Their duplicated contents are working for us in that case.
Do you have any suggestions on how to approach this from the SEO side? All comments and warnings are welcomed :)
Thanks
