Hi all,
I am looking for some advice on what you would suggest as best practice for setting up accounts to use with Google My Business, AdWords and various other services such as API for maps.
I currently have 5 accounts I manage for various businesses What is the best way to manage these?
I did see Google has a Organisation or Agency account but from what I've read, all accounts need to be owned under the same @domain url address?

Look forward to hearing from you

Hi NightShift and welcome to WebmasterWorld!

I used to favour a dedicated email account for each business i.e. webmaster@example.com so that there was an account that anyone could access that was used for GSC, Analytics, Google Ads etc. This meant that email received on this account would only be to do with the web presence, and that access could be shared with other contractors, or passed on if my work with the business came to an end. This avoided using personal or even work email accounts for this so that sensitive information never got mixed up with notifications from Google, and the security of employee / boss email messages or accounts was not my concern. There was another benefit in that in the past it was much easier to link Google properties if the email used to log in to them was the same.

This approach has had its day, for two reasons:
1) Google has got much better at allowing access levels to be set for its different properties so, as long as you have the correct user/admin privileges attached to your own login, you can link properties that are owned by different email accounts.
2) With all the IP and device tracking and two-factor authentication that Google do, having multiple people sharing a login can be a hassle to set up because new users have to be verified and this requires you setting up a call so one person can try to login, be blocked, request an ID or some other info, be given that over the phone by the owner and then login. If your IP or device changes you can be locked out again.

So now I get people to make my work email an admin for any properties they want me to work on, then I can use one set of credentials - where the verification is completely within my control because the mailbox, phone number, device etc are all mine - to login to everything for every client.
