Hello,
from seeing 200-300 average users on site today, there are now 7. Even when I enter the site it doesn't record it.
Anyone else seeing a bug?
Did Google Analytics change their code?

Others are reporting issues at the moment, but there's been no official comment from Google just yet.

From sometime around 7:45 to around 8:15am Pacific Real Time had a glitch and stopped reporting. This happens occasionally.

What is odd, is that if you drilldown to hourly stats reporting (with whatever metric like user sessions or event fires) for around this time you'll see that there is less activity. It seems as though Google Analytics hasn't populated the data during this outage.

I haven't seen any update. I did contact Analytics help about it.

I drilled down per minute with Analytics, and I'm showing 0 data from 7:53am-8:09am Pacific 10/18/21 during the Real time outage.

FYI. I received an update from Google and the data for a number of websites was not collected from 7:27am and 8:30am PDT on October 18, 2021.

Sucks since we use GA event tracking for important data collection.

Resolution:

To help you further, I’ve immediately checked with our team and confirmed that there was an account outage issue from 7:27am and 8:30am PDT on October 18, 2021. Any data sent to Google Analytics from 7:27am and 8:30am PDT on October 18, 2021 was not collected and is therefore not present in Analytics reporting. Because this happened at the collection level, data cannot be restored via reprocessing or any other method.

In addition to the impact this has on customers’ Analytics reporting it affects downstream integrations (e.g. Google Optimize), notably affecting advertiser-oriented features such as conversion-export and audience evaluation.. Multiple Google Ads accounts with Automatic payment methods have been impacted due to this intermittent technical issue.
Multiple Google Analytics accounts have been impacted due to this intermittent technical issue.

However, I’m delighted to inform you that the issue has been resolved and your reporting is now up and running. There is no further action required from you.

Our team would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary outage. Also, I highly appreciate your time and patience while our team worked on this issue.

Additional Information:

Any data uploaded during that period is lost forever and cannot be recovered with reprocessing since it was dropped by Collection.

The problem with Google Analytics has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.

Collection of all Google Analytics data was interrupted during this incident and is unavailable. Affects on reporting and linked products are under assessment.

I hope this email helps you in resolving the query. In the meantime, if you have further questions feel free to contact us or reply to this email thread and we will be happy to assist you.

seems like there is another glitch in data.
looking at yesterday's data, despite it's 12 hours after, missing data from 22:00PM till midnight.
Anyone else seeing this?

I don't have 2 hours gap of data for anytime yesterday.

You might include your timezone to help others know what specific time to check.

Yeah Real time is not reporting. If you search twitter for 'google analytics' and sort by Latest it's the fastest way to see if others are seeing an error.

The reporting dashboard google provided at ads.google.com/status/publisher doesn't update quickly.

Any possibility that it's affecting reporting in general (not just real time)? I have a client site that was decimated since the end of the month — but traffic is down across all channels, not just organic. His paid is down 60+%, organic 60+%, etc....but I'm not seeing major ranking drops and in other tools (SEMRush) they don't seem to be affected.

Anything is possible but it is not very likely.

It is more than likely that SEMRush and other tools are not accurate. These tools do not have direct access to the data, thus make inferences. The may take some time to catch-up to Google, if they even are able to provide an accurate estimate at all.

The most reliable means of checking is by looking into your raw access logs, it is the only source of truth.
