This question ties in both organic search and a little on Google Shopping, does anyone have experience with this?

Is there a limit or best practice between meta description or schema description? There are a few conflicting information and I think it's possible to approach it from a few different directions.

On meta description, I try to make it as descriptive as possible under 160 characters to have better CTR on the serp.

Schema product description does not have such limit. But should it incorporate "everything" about the item to include everything on-page? Or should we also limit it to certain level of characters similar to how we approach meta description, or further, can we set the meta description as the product schema description?

What is the organic search implication of it if anyone has experience testing?

I was considering to set product schema description the same as page meta description, but someone advised that Google might have penalty against that. Is it true?

Somehow I don't feel like stuffing the schema product description with 5,000 characters is the way to go.
