Hi so just around mid - December 2020, my website dropped from Google search's top 10 list (first page) of serps for a common search term.

Is there any way I can regain the ranking or diagnose what's wrong? I've checked Search console but no error messages or warnings. Thanks!

There probably is not anything wrong. And you probably can't do anything immediately other than wait it out to see whatever Google decides to do next. Can you share which niche you're in and your target country though?

Commom keyword = Lots of competition = Plenty of continual churn

Entertainment industry = Usually constant change and visibility

Unless you're IMDB !

Yes I agree, however I'm seeing that even major page sections which are already indexed by Google (checked in search console), do not appear in serps when i search for my domain EXAMPLE.COM. So there must be something wrong somewhere with my website I guess? What could be the reasons?

Did your site drop, or did other sites rise? Do the rest of the former top ten still enjoy the same positions, or have they too been dislodged by newcomers?

My site dropped... well I guess it's part of Google's algorithmic updates and preferences. We'll keep moving forward.
