I have recently started an SEO activities for the new client. They are forcing me to purchase some paid human traffic from the website like <snip> for the immediate results. I have told them that it won't help the rankings in Google serp. Does it actually help the rankings in Google?

Hello,

Theory #1: it does no help.

Theory #2: it helps, but what happens the day you stop paying these "humans" ? It if helps ranking, then the day you stop, your ranking will crash. So you continue to pay "human" forever?

Theory #3: If Google 's algo is smart enough to take in consideration human visits, then it should be able to tell this is not legitimate visits.

So, I would say, keep the money, and find a better way to use it. If you , your client, has the money to promote a business, at the end the best solution is certainly to pay for ad placement in the SERP.

This is total waste unless if your client is looking to sell the website by showing those traffic figure to others. This traffic never help in rankings so make yourself more clear. As mentioned by JoregeV use the amount for PPC and it will bring real leads or sales. You also need to educate client that SEO don't give overnight results otherwise it will not have been carried out from years. I believe now a days every one has misconception of SEO.

People thinks they will start getting sales and leads from the day they start SEO. They do not take time to understand at all on how SEO works, that is the reason they are coming-up with such stupid ideas.

Hello,

unless if your client is looking to sell the website by showing those traffic figure to others

I am sure this is common behavior and plenty of small entrepreneurs are falling into the trap, buying a site, with plenty of traffic, just to find out that this is not the case.

Money is better invested in on site development and ordinary SEO practices.

After all, this traffic disappears when one stops paying it.

If Google is considering CTR as a factor, do you ensure the paid human traffic would really act like real human. Why not just try Google adwards.
