There are few things I would like to know before going to select keywords for commerce website.

1. On many resources I have read that select the keyword whose competition is in between 1000 and 1500 Per month. Because we can't rank high search volume keywords easily. Is it true?

2. Should I have to purchase any paid tool for keyword selection. Or Should I use free tool like google keyword planner, auto suggest, and many available free tool.

select keywords for commerce website

I thought that google's algorithm "selects" the keywords, or in other words decides which keywords best match the content of your site and then determines which searchers might want to see it.

The concept of the keyword is deprecated. Way back when one keyword == one search result. If you were good, your site rank first. Today one keyword can result in many different search results. This is due to a variety of factors such personalization, geo-location, browsing history, implied user intent and a wide variety of other factors that well outside of a webmasters control. We live in a world of AI, no two queries for the same keyword will return the same results (or at least the same results are not assured or even likely).

Should I have to purchase any paid tool for keyword selection

Paid keyword tools are unable to produce any meaningful results due to points raised above. I see no value in paying for a service that will show numbers that mean nothing.

The bottom line is that you need to create content for the users. How the users ultimately interacts with your content will determine how it will be searched and how it will rank.

As @Aristotle stated above:
google's algorithm "selects" the keywords

Okay, There is one more question I want to resolve.

Through many resources I have found that I should select and finalized low search volume keywords when has new sites. I have created some keywords list in which some keywords monthly search volume is 100 to 1k and some of are in between 1K to 10k. This is a new project so can you suggest me how much search volume keyword I should select. Do you have any recommendation.

NickMNS has given you excellent advice above. Here we go IMHO, FWIW.

Why are you searching for keywords?

This is for an ecommerce site, correct?

Is this for yourself or a client?

If it is for yourself you ought to already know many of the keywords used for the product / industry.

If it is for a client then THEY should already know the keywords used for the product / industry.

The amount of time I have to explain this to companies / people when constructing a website is ridiculous. They seem to believe that we webmasters should know all the ketwords for a given industry / product.

We do not however to construct a successful site the client should do / needs to know them, likewise with images, where do they think they come from, thin air? This is when constant re-writes occur, when the client has not detailed correctly their needs / desires / intentions for the site.

For an ecommerce site you need to be precise, accurate and, as I said in another response, non-spammy.

No paid-for or free keyword generator I have tried can replace industry / product knowledge, sure Google can make suggestions however it is your local / national market that you need to concentrate upon.

You'll get just as many ideas from using the Google search box, entering the product name and see what G comes up with.

Hi...

I go through Google Keyword Planner, Auto Suggest and Ubersuggest, and have made keywords report that I would like to map in my content. Below I am placing some keywords that I wish to use and demo of content on how I am going to apply them. Kindly guide me if I am going wrong.

Keywords: Green Fruit Juice | pure green fruit juice | green fruit juice for skin | green fruit for constipation | green fruit for diabetes | green fruit juice for hair

Demo of keyword mapping:

Title: XYZ (Brand Name) Green Fruit Juice
Description: Pure Green fruit has always been one of the most important herbal plants used in ancient medicines. XYZ (Brand Name) Green Fruit Juice is made from the fresh naturally obtained green fruit leaf useful for skin, hair, diabetes, constipation, etc.

Note: This is demo, I just want to know is this a correct format I used to map keywords in content. If yes then I will do improve it better.

Thanks..... Happy weekend!

One reason we discourage posting your actual keyword strategies is so you aren't helping your competitors. Try to remember that anyone with a computer or mobile device can read these forums.

You're spending way too much time on something that may or may not make any difference to your business. There is no secret formula of word placement or numerology that wins the race. It is how people interact with your site, how they perceive your honesty and the perception of unique value or authority you are able to convey. Otherwise all the sites that are selling the same products would be copies of the others. Do something different that your competitors are not doing, give people a reason to buy from you rather than your competitors. When you are not offering something that they can only get from you, you are not memorable. It's not rocket science it is understanding your market. Look at your successful competitors, see what you can do to take their place.

Happy weekend to you as well!

Suggestion which you may find it impossible to follow: Proceed as if the word “keyword” does not exist, has never existed and will never come into existence.

^^^ What's been said above ^^^

Your keyword strategy is just one element of your overall product page presentation.

Over the years, 25 of SEO now and yes SEO existed from the very start, I have created a standardised template for my widgets. The layout is identical for every page so that anyone visiting will always see the pertinent information in the same position, obviously all the keywords, descriptions and images are unique.

Therein lies getting the balance correct and keeping it totally natural and flowing.

I have absolutely no idea if my layouts would work for other global industries however I cannot see why not.

Title: XYZ (Brand Name) Green Fruit Juice

This is always an argued point!

Some favour as you show, some say:

1. Green Fruit Juice | Brand Name

some say:

2. Green Fruit Juice | Light Green Fruit Juice | Dark Green Fruit Juice | Brand Name.

I have used all methods successfully, the big advantage of 2 is that it may be more helpful to some purchasers.
