Backlinks from http sites

Hi guys,

I'm new to SEO and found this forum in order to learn more.

Well I'm at backlinking now but I'm a little insecure to create backlinks from blogs and sites that have no SSL certificate. Is it safe and will a link from an http site affect my google ranking in a bad way? How will googles algorhytm reward or penalize it?

It's not a matter of safe, if a website is still on http, I would say that 95% has low value and I wouldn't care for a link from that domain anyway.
