Hi

I'm or I was a member of this forum since 2005, but seems my account was closed, although I could create a new account with the same username.
Now my question, on my site we created a page and we want to copy it to a number of languages, IT and ES.It is a wordpress so we used a plugin called HREFLANG Tags.
the pages are at
https://example.com/live-streaming/ (EN)
https://example.com/diretta-streaming/ (IT)
is this OK? will it work? on my tests there seems to be some warning.
Thanks. I'm not sure this is the correct category, if I made a mistake I hope the moderator will change this post to the correct category.

From an SEO perspective, Google tends to ignore hreflang in the rankings because too many people bought site templates with the hreflang pre-filled in and never changed it to their own language. So the hreflang tag is too often inaccurate and thus often ignored by Google.

When using hreflang, make sure your documents have ZERO coding errors. For example you are going to have trouble if the Italian page begins with: <!DOCTYPE html><html lang="en-US"

If you are representing a page to be in a certain language with your hreflang tag, try to have all of the page in that language. Try not to show English content in the header, side navigation, and/or footer for an Italian page. Make it easy for search engines to figure out which language is being used and avoid confusing it with mixed signals.

For a more detailed review of your personal situation you can submit your your site to the Review My Site [webmasterworld.com] section in the supporters area.

Has G now started paying attention to the <lang> tag? For years and years they flatly ignored it.
