I very rarely use Google to search on my iPhone however last night I did and all the results displayed favicons.

Thinking I was going a little crazy I did several searches and all results had favicons therefore this morning I tried an experiment with various PCs, laptops, tablets and mobiles.

All devices had cleared cache and history and I used Chrome for testing since I usually use DDG or Firefox browsers.

All PCs and Windows laptops did not show favicons, I haven't tried a Mac machine as yet however wonder after my iphone experiment.

An Android tablet did not show favicons whereas an Android HD phone did do.

Several Windows phones did not show favicons however three different iPhone models ALL showed favicons for several different searches, cleaning out Safari plus re-booting the phones still gave favicons.

And for all of you who have been complaining about the Google's SERPs let me tell you that every device gave differing results, some were fairly similar however most were noticeably different.

Anyone else seeing favicons?

Correction --- The Android tablet does show favicons with its built-in browser, I had used Firefox.

I'm only seeing it on Android mobile.

It really does make search very, very busy.

As i've said previously, it's confusing as to what's an ad and what's not.

Favicons have been in mobile SERPS for nearly a year.

See: [rankranger.com...]

On May 22nd, 2019, Google's mobile SERP officially welcomed favicons.

Google's official announcement: [blog.google...]

To the best of my knowledge, the recent rollback of favicons was limited to desktop only.

Yes, and it's a confusing mess, imho. No longer clean serps making it harder to define organic from paid, plus all the other snippets and suggestions.

the recent rollback of favicons was limited to desktop only.

FF on mobile doesn't appear to have them.

Really ... it just goes to show I don't use Google for search on mobile!
