I'd love to offer a competing view but Ahrefs is my favourite tool as well. I will say that Moz has greatly improved, SEMrush is ok but I really prefer the usability of Ahrefs.

Question?

Is there ANY point of these "tools" or are they simply "sales hype / snake oil" with zero real world value?

have you used any specific tools that were worthless or are you asking in general?

@RedBar

Ahrefs is the best $100 a month I spend. Helps me understand where my SEO stands and gives me actionable data to grow it.
