Hello,

I'm seeing some strange 404 errors in my analytics report, with some decomposing URLs. The structure looks like this:

part-of-url
part-of-url-more
part-of-url-more-more
part-of-url-more-more-nearlythefinish
part-of-url-more-more-nearlythefinish-finish

This is the structure, sort of like a pyramid. The service provides is "Facebook Ireland ltd" and source is "Facebook". Device category is "mobile". Has anyone ecountered this before? Is there a solution to prevent these errors?

Thanks in advance

Every time there is a question involving something found in an analytics report (whether GA or other), the essential first question is: What do access logs say?

Until this question has been answered, you don't know if you have an analytics issue or a site issue.

Memo to self: Save the above response to WMW Boilerplate folder for future use.

As noted: check your logs ... YOUR SITE LOGS.

All will be revealed.

Else most of this is just junk traffic and not worth your time.
