Hi,

15 years ago, I started a website with just 2,000 pages, which I finally discontinued in 2012 (today it shows blank pages). According to Ahrefs, it's got a Domain Rating of 55. And Moz tells that there is no information for the domain.

Currently, I manage a website with 300,000+ pages, created in 2009, which I would like to boost in the SERPs of Google. It's got a DR of 49 (Ahrefs) and a DA of 54 (Moz)

I'm considering about relaunching the old website just to help the new one with the SEO boost. I wondered:
- if it's worth wasting time relaunching the time
- what is the smartest strategy (insert links from every page of the old site, 301 redirections, etc.)

Thank you.

Your site has 0 DA because Google doesn't care about or even look at DA. Look at the backlinks and traffic to better determine potential value. Log into Google search console to see if there are any penalties. Using old sites can definitely help a newer site and is a common tactic used by spammers. If you aren't careful how you do this, you can trigger a penalty.

Each situation is different. Sometimes its worth resurrecting the site and then surgically embedding links in relevant content. Other times it is better to just 301 redirect & be done with it.

One of those tread carefully scenarios. Under proper conditions a SUPPORTIVE site of complementary but not exact content MIGHT be worthy of a link ... but to expect dusty, unused link "juice" from 15 years back to make a difference is not very likely. At best a potential to have a secondary site that can grow itself and "do biz", at worst it can tank both sites with manual penalties.

As goodroi notes above: "Each situation is different."
