International SEO Multilang and Multiregion

Hi Webmasters,
I need to target my website globally,
Example: www.abc.com is my website, i want to target US, UK, FR, and CA.
I need your help to opt subdomian or subfolder.

If i go with subfolder and hreflang do i have to maintain new content for all english speaking countries or can i use canonical tag by keeping same content on one particular subfolder.

It's my humble request to the webmasters to answer my question

International SEO is much more difficult and not a good idea for inexperienced webmasters.

You want to make it as easy as possible for Google to understand your site is very relevant for the local users. I would start by having different languages served to different countries. Using English content for France is not going to work very well. Using country specific domains provides another signal of relevance. A single website needs to have very strong ranking power for it to rank in different countries.
