Not what i'd seen, it wasn't even that.
I'd class myself as an experienced searcher, and, sometimes, when I look at Google's serps it's trying to pre-empt my intent. More often than not, it's presenting either highly-optimised sites, or, in this case, it was all wrong. Something's broke.

It works that way these days.

I don't ever use "best" as that is spammed out.

I was abroad for most of November and did not focus on Google. It strikes me that whatever disastrous (for me) updates Google made in March and early June were dialed back slowly. I started to see real inquiries again in Sept/Oct and now especially in Nov. Traffic is definitely being throttled IMHO, it never goes out of certain parameters anymore and that just isn't a natural traffic pattern. I've spent five months of this year as a total write-off, and the economy is still doing fine. Being a veteran guinea pig in Google's laboratory, I know that they are likely to unleash more disastrous updates soon enough and then dial those back too. So, it's basically grab it while you can.

Historically, Black Friday has always been 10-15% lower for G organic than our peak day during the week. This year we are pacing to be about 10% higher than our best day this week, which oddly enough had been record traffic day for a 14 year old website. I can't tell if this is because of an update or user behavior decided in 2019 it was going to completely change and that many more people stayed home vs shopped locally? It is the oddest thing.

I was refreshing this thread for someone to report it and thats what i have observed too , very strange for a saturday , i can't deny the fact that dials were touched . It seems the chatters are less due to weekends , lets see what others have to report on this.

Our traffic is looking pretty normal for a Saturday in November.

Also, I'd expect it to be off a bit, since nearly half of our traffic comes from the U.S. and this is an important holiday weekend in the States.

@sk7411
@EditorialGuy

Thanksgiving Day has never affected as large as today. I have many live cameras at various tourist spots. Usually around this time my traffic goes up, but I see only a big drop today. This is not common during US holidays.

@EditorialGuy Exactly correct. Traffic may be not normal as a Saturday but definitely normal as a Saturday in November specially for the day after Black Friday.

Traffic is just slow.
