IN PROCESS...
Mod's note: Unusual situation here. I'm splitting off material for two threads at this point (or three, depending on how you count)..
First, I've split off a new Sept Updates and SERPs discussion to the following thread...
Google Updates and SERP Changes - September 2019 https://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4962430.htm [webmasterworld.com]
^^^^The above thread is active now. Please read the Mod's note in that thread before posting. It's for Updates and SERPs discussion only.
I'm then splitting this August updates thread off into a new discussion that went far off topic, but is an excellent discussion that we want to preserve momentum and keep ot going. Currently, though, that discussion also includes on-topic material intended for the Aug updates thread, That will need to be edited out of the new thread gradually and moved back... but it should not interfere with the continuation of the new discussion, here...
Google, big tech, disruption, and the international marketplace https://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4962448.htm [webmasterworld.com]
(^^^^^ My title improvised from main topics I see in the new thread.)
While we move posts on-topic about the updates thread from the new thread back to Updates thread, anyone wanting to follow what updates discussion there was will have to read both threads. Eventually, the big tech/disruption discussion will be cleared of updates material. Please forgive occasional cuts in your posts where the post could not be split over multiple threads....
And this, folks ;) , is why your volunteer mods ask you please to use Reported (hidden in the pull-down next to the Msg#), so we can at least have a shot of being on top of handling off topic posts easily. It's very difficult to do during an active discussion, without hiding the thread for a few hours while we do it. We'd really appreciate all the help we can get.
