Hi People,

i manage a media/news website <snip>.. It was hit by google penalty in the past, due to which we never get featured in google search carousal listing again. our website primary is in English.

I have a sub directory which cover other language i.e. Hindi. This section is entirely different from the main website. Meaning it covers different stories than the primary website.

Now my question is, Does moving the sub directory to new subdomain will help us get featured in Search Carousal Listing.

Thanks In Advance.

It was hit by google penalty in the past

Did you figure why Google penalized your site? And, did you take the appropriate measures to correct the "problem" ?

A sub-domain "might" carry "less" penalty, but don't expect too much, Google will not be fooled by moving a penalized content to a sub domain (of the same domain).

More likely your news reporting might run afoul of g's currently mandated "fake news" and "authoritative" new sourcing changes. If that is the case, it won't make any difference where you host the content.

We live in changing times, and g is changing how they display content.
