Section on existing multi-thematic site vs new thematic domain?

Hello, everybody,

I have a domain with a section with a lot of traffic, the most of the site. I have created a new domain on the same subject in several languages, the question is if I put the new domain online to compete with the current section or redirect the section to the new domain.

I don't know what Google will think about this, the new site is very similar to the old (duplicate content?) and with the same content but somewhat expanded, would be a section on multi-thematic site versus new thematic domain and if this redirection would affect the traffic of the site of origin, I mean to the sections I keep in the old domain.

What do you recomend?

How about, you take your new, elaborated content and use that to refine your existing content? If the original content is already ranking well, why risk it? Alternate solution, redirect the old section to the new site, if this is your main focus from now on?

Hi,

The question is that that section and the new website have very low content because is a tool and lists, Google could take it like duplicate content? both are very similar. If not, may be the best option is to keep both and make compete with myself.

One usually avoids duplicate content. If the new domain is a better fit than the old one (as in more domain/keyword specific), keep the old, redirect to new. Don't have BOTH visible, only the one you want to be seen.

Yes, a SE most likely would perceive this as duplicate. Competing with yourself is not advisable, unless you're 100 % certain, you'll take up two spots on P1.
Focus your energy on one item.
