Google Search Console sporadic Page Resource Inspection Errors

Sporadically, not always, when we inspect URLs in the new GSC, under the more info tab, for Page resources – Google is showing that there are errors with loading our CSS Files, Javascript files and other image files, thus making it non-mobile friendly at times. Then I would reinspect the same URL, and it's fine, but not all images load. This is happening with random URLs at random times. To me, this suggests that there's an issue at certain times, so Google can't always properly crawl the necessary files. When inspecting URLs, 100% of the time there are errors with loading certain images located throughout that URL. Over time, this whole issue produced hundreds of Mobile Coverages errors displayed in GSC, but then they would vanish, then reappear. I believe this underlying issue is affecting our rankings. Any thoughts or recommendations would be very much appreciated!

I'm getting exactly the same thing across multiple sites.

Investigating at the moment to see if it is just sites on the same host, if it is I'm going to move some to new hosting and see what happens.

All seems a bit drastic if it is just a bug in search console though, anyone know if any bugs have been reported?

@sim64 – Are you running CloudFlare or any other similar third party service for the website that is giving you these resource errors?

@HereWeGo123 - No
I've just checked a few other sites on different hosts and getting similar with those too.
Biggest problem is the fact it appears sporadic and random making it very difficult to find a problem

@sim64 - Are the CSS files clearly specified with the full path without any redirects and are absolute, Not relative?

@HereWeGo123 - Yes, and the same with images too.
Also no pattern to which images aren't loading, sometimes images near top of page, middle of page or bottom of page.

Google's been having a series of bugs through just about all of April, and this news hasn't seemed to penetrate widely. My guess is that this is what you're encountering. See...

April 2019 Google indexing & reporting bugs continue... It's not you!
