Hi kup97, and
Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com].
Sorry that I couldn't consider the Twitter thread from an SEO company you cited as authoritative enough to link to; and it really provided no additional information beyond what you'd already described... that
"a few people on Twitter have had the same issue". That by itself would have sufficed in this case. We avoid linking to outside discussions unless they're from known, trusted sources. As a new user, you don't initially have linking privileges... but the "breaking-in period" should give you a sense of what we trust. We're proactively anti-promotional in what we allow in this forum.
Some searches I did on Twitter suggested that Barry Schwartz SE Roundtouble was onto this story, and Barry's short post on Friday morning noted that the news come from Google. Here's the beginning of his post...
Google Search Console Pipeline Issues Cause Reporting Delays Oct 19, 2018 - by Barry Schwartz [

Google announced this morning on Twitter that some reports within Google Search Console are delayed. They are delayed because of pipeline issues with getting data from sources within Google....
The news was also included in Barry's weekly video report. I got the sense that the backup was caused by the large amount of data that had come as a result of the fairly major Google update that was also "in the pipeline".
My experience with javascript "real-time" trackers is that they're not always real-time. Google occasionally has delays of a day or two. Further discussion of how to get faster tracking, if you want to go into that kind of detail, should be best discussed in our dedicated
Website Analytics - Tracking and Logging Forum [

I'm keeping this thread in Google SEO News since it's likely to reach the other members you've discussed it with in our October Google Updates thread.
Incidentally, the delay shouldn't affect your Google rankings, but it clearly might affect how closely you can synchronize with your Facebook posts.
