It appears the latest and updated Google Quality Rater Guidelines document is now a 404

It was here [static.googleusercontent.com...]

There appears to be no explanation, so it could be an error, or there might be a valid reason for it going. There's nothing from Google on the topic.

Perhaps they decided it should be an internal file.

That link gets me a pdf titled "General Guidelines" and dated 20 JUly 2018.

It works in the latest versions of Firefox,Opera and Chrome.

It was here
If you look closely you'll find a // at one point in the URLpath. Is it possible some browsers don't approve?

Now, if only someone could find a working link for the late lamented Pure Spam [google.com] page, which now redirects to--ahem! cough-cough!--an entirely unrelated page. I used to check this avidly every now and then with much the same feelings as watching a hideous accident scene.

Ditto, works here in Firefox. Seems to have the exact same file size as version I downloaded several days ago, so it's unlikely that it's been changed.

Thanks, lucy. I checked source on the post, and the // is there, at /en// ....

/en//insidesearch/howsearchworks/

I'll leave it as is for engine to check, and to fix if he likes... It might be useful to him for diagnosis.
