Next very big hit. Yesterday 11.30pm . This hit is even more drastic than all the other hits before.
Very big winner in our niche is amazon. amazon has now 2-4 entries in a row where they were not present before.
Most of the amazon pages have spammy title, h1 tags.
Even big brands are now replaced by amazon ( ebay, conrad, mercator ... )

Thank you, Cralamarre! Google traffic disappeared completely, and this made me really panic. I thought I am kicked out!

Your post helped me calm down. Thanks again :)

"Is Analytics broken? My real time dropped to just 10. I am panicking now :("

Exact same thing here!

@MayankParmar Well, for all we know, we've both been kicked out. :)
I think it's just down, though. It happens.

In my GA realtime, which is about 25% of what it should be, I can see no visitors from the EU which is strange. Maybe something to do with GDPR?

All this happened in the last 2 hours. Before that my realtime traffic was 100% normal.

In fact, the last few days traffic has been up.

Analytics is having problems almost every week. As if it's hosted on a shared hosting plan.

Analytics says my traffic dropped 50 percent in the last hour. Other people having this issue it seems?

Still down. Real-time is showing only a single Direct traffic source, and regular analytics is showing almost no traffic for the past two hours.

Definitely something strange going on. I'm not sure if things are back though, at least for me. Problems seemed to have started sometime around 4pm EDT.

Yep, real time is back but I have a big empty bucket shape in my hourly analytics. Two hours of stats missing.

OMG ! :-)))

Some of you people must be a nightmare to live with ... sit down, relax ...

I've been all through this crap, I have almost zero AdSense earnings, as in I doubt I'll even make the minimum this month, do I care? No, I learnt years ago that G was not my "friend", even though it purported to be!

Quite simply look at G's SERPs, it's mostly garbage, it tries but is generally hopeless since it is trying to appease too many factions instead of giving "correct" answer which, to be honest, is not what most people do not want!

My sites are all trade widget driven, they are recognised by my global industry as the most accurately informatative plus images as the best yet I constantly lose out to sites with SFA all on them other than a keyword name or image, usually ripped-off from me.

For a long time now all G has been is an advertising machine, DDG has had far quite some time far superior results however one has to "learn" how to use DDG.

The fact is, insofar as global business (B2B) is concerned, G is almost defunct, it drives nothing and has absolutely NO clue how to!

Bit of a traffic drop today. Additionally, seeing video carousel on almost every search query I do.

Bye bye converting traffic today, had a few sales yesterday but maybe went over the quota.

Don’t get me wrong same spend, same number of visitors or maybe today amazon prime converters do after purchase research

In the U.S., the news may be distracting people from shopping and browsing as usual.

Many, and I mean many people are complaining about a major drop in sales on Amazon. In fact there are multiple threads about poor Amazon sales in their seller's fourm. Here's a quote from Amazon's seller forum:

For a keyword I’m familiar with, Amazon used to have the top 3 organic Google spots. Now they are not on the first page. They only have a single text ad.

Amazon quit using Adwords shopping ads, and this is how Google responds. While I sell on Amazon, and have surely felt a drop in sales in that marketplace, the Amazon crowding was out of control. Unfortunately other big brands are now crowding the SERPS. But from everything I have seen, and other Amazon seller's complaints, there's no question that the latest Google update took a direct shot at Amazon. I guess everyone here will be upset that I can no longer complain about Amazon crowded SERPS. LOL Hopefully this translates into improves sales on independent websites, but I'm not seeing it personally.

Now is the perfect time for a "back to basics" no frills, no clutter, search engine, like Google WAS many moons ago, to step up. DDG?

That would make sense if we also reverted to a "back to basics" Web. (I kind of liked the olden days before JavaScript, WordPress, video, smartphones, and all that other modern folderol!)

I couldn't disagree more. DDG (for my searches at least) are reminiscent of monkeys on typewriters, the early years.

You are selecting United Kingdom?

In my widget sector DDG's delivering great results, accurate and varied, and I'm using it more and more since Bing's gone a bit too much Googlified plus its image results are diabolical.

Yes, UK selected. Just awful for my searches I'm afraid.
