Remember the Q&As that Matt Cutts used to do? Well, it seems Google is to bring those back.

Great, now we don't have to wait for the Coen brothers to remake them.

I suspect the return of these may be as a result of the influence of DS

It's likely that Danny Sullivan did bring these back. I wouldn't mind a touch of the Coen brothers in the direction. These are a considerable improvement over the oft cryptic Twitter posts, or the badly recorded meetups... but I feel that they're slightly overdirected and perhaps a bit too aggressively energetic.

What I liked about the Matt Cutts videos was that there was an informality about them, and Matt really managed to project his engagement with the questions... that the answers really weren't cut and dry, that there were often tradeoffs in certain types of results. Matt put some thought into suggesting the nuances of something as apparently mundane, eg, as whether to show a pdf result for a given query.

John Mueller's first two videos show some potential, and I hope they let John show his thoughtful side as well. Looking forward to more of them.

Danny Sullivan said this was already in motion before he joined Google...

Thanks, Barry. I know that many of us are anticipating that Danny's going to accomplish some great things at Google, and we may be premature in our praise. ;)
