Google is, or should I say has, just become or is closely becoming an actual website. You know. The place you go to get what you need and not go somewhere else. It's almost officially the era of the Google tax. They got a piece of everything that comes through the web.

For me, these past two weeks have been extremely frustrating. During my site's peak hours (8 am to 4 pm), my traffic over these past two weeks has increased by as much as 35%. Traffic during these hours is back to what it was in May, and a huge improvement over the dismal summer. But, at other times, especially from midnight to 8 am, I've seen the reverse happen. Traffic numbers are way down. It's like people in some parts of the world have suddenly forgotten about me.

From 8 am to 4 pm, most of my traffic comes from the US. It makes sense that US traffic is up now that the school year is starting. But I can't explain why traffic in other parts of the world has dropped. Even with the increase in peak hour traffic, it's barely balancing out the low numbers from the rest of the day (and doing nothing to relieve my stress). I wish I knew why.

Our sessions are up for the last 6 weeks but page-views are frustratingly static, much is probably due to spending more on adwords though, as our SERP rankings are not yet significantly better than they were.

Wow! I managed to beat last month's sales....by ONE. Usually the end of summer uptick would have been well under way by now. Throttled by Magoo again!

Are you selling in any other marketplaces beyond your own website? Though traffic from Google is in the crapper, I've logged my best month ever, And it's not even the peak sales season for my business.

Our Google organic traffic grew 30% month over month. We have seen close to the same amount of growth each month since March, about 25% to 30%. Conversions have been fairly consistent, up 3% for August when compared to July.
