If I have a very large site, Do indexed pages drop when pagerank decreases on the overall site?

Also, my current dilemma is I have a large number of pages and can't get google to cache them all. My plan is to link to a rotating set of the pages from my home page, thus temporarily boosting the page rank/link juice to each one of them and convincing google to index them. I was just wondering if I then stopped linking to them from the home page and thus taking away their pagerank that then google would just drop them from its index again.

Google still privately uses PageRank but they no longer update Toolbar PageRank so there is no way to know when it decreases. Most people still talking about PageRank are usually working on outdated information so you might want to double check if you are up to date on the state of PageRank. In very general sense, stronger backlinks does lead to more robust indexing. I'd suggest you go after links that generate traffic as they tend to be more powerful. When it comes to links the focus seems to be shifting towards quality over quantity.
