Google's Gary Illyes issues a "friendly reminder" that automated queries are against the search engine's Terms of Service.

I suspect this is a little bit of a veiled warning.

You can still scrape Google you just need to throttle it a little bit to stay below their radar or have a bunch of ips to put in rotation. The stupid thing is to publicly brag about breaking Google rules. Some people just can't remember the first rule of fight club...
