Ok guys and gals,

So finally, after what amounted to a couple years of cleaning up our own mess (some self inflicted and some by a less than great SEO company) at the end of November, our main keywords came back from oblivion (think 250+) to the 2nd page.

I was THRILLED.

Then about December 5th, rankings went straight back to where they were.

The site, is <snip>

I won't go into the gory details, but it does seem like we were hit by Penguin some time ago and never truly recovered. We built a ton of crappy links. Had a ton of crappy links built for us. For the past 2 years, we've been above board and trying to recover. If you look at the link profile, there's a lot of good stuff there now, largely from media outreach and HARO. There's also a lot of content on the site. About 9 months we upgraded to https sitewide and switched from our wine specific software to Wordpress and Woocommerce. This past week, I updated our disavow file-we're down from about 6k bad links to 2k and many of those aren't awful to begin with (they include some forums, as well as, about 200 actually decent ezine articles).

Is this just impossible to figure out what went on? Can anyone give me a guess about what I should be doing next, or just more of the same?
