Google Warns its Own Website is "Partially Dangerous"

According to a safe browsing status, Google says google.com is "partially dangerous." Double checking the date. No, it's not April 1.

As a group we need to track this and see if the warning is removed or stays.

This may seem just amusing initially but in reality this could prove seriously damaging to G if it gets promoted in the media in an adverse manner.

There have been warnings for large sites for years. User content means warnings, e.g. GitHub:

[google.com...]

For most big sites you'll see "Some pages on this website install malware on visitors' computers.", e.g. Microsoft:

[google.com...]

Not sure why Google has suddenly gone up a warning level, but I think this is more of a cheeky headline than anything genuinely significant.

I believe the warnings might be as a result of drive.google.com:

[google.com...]

Note that www.google.com returns clean:

[google.com...]
