Indexing and hiden keywords

Hello world,

We are trying to figure out how to get more sites indexed on our ecommerce site and whether our keyword structure is part of the problem. There are sites that use this kind of method in order to avoid keyword cannibalization, I presume:
hiding keyword (full product name) until the product detail page; where they want to rank for the keyword.

Can anyone suggest if this strategy is a good direction?

You're going to need to clarify "hiding keyword (full product name) until the product detail page". How are these being "hidden"? Are you saying that category pages don't mention product names?

I'm not sure what you mean either, but in any case you should always try to make it easy for people to find what they're looking for. "Hiding" product names might make it harder to find them.

All of it counts in one way or the other. If you put up obstructions you're only making it more difficult ... and the final result may be less than desired.

That's too extreme of a plan, the pages linking to your money pages are about the same topic in general so avoiding the keywords is probably not a good idea. The only place I would 'hide' the keywords on other pages is in the titles, just don't use them there.

Yes, thank you for all the replies. They don't mention the full product name, which I guess would be the keyword they want to rank for, but only a brand name. I was trying to relate that possible "keyword hiding" to keyword cannibalization. JS Harris why not the titles?
