Is It SEO Friendly to Mention Brand Name for Profile Creation?

Does our website harms if we promote website using company/brand name?

I'm just wondering that is it good to use company/brand name for promoting the website. There are some link building services like profile creation that is to be used to gain high quality link.

In my experience member profile creation solely as a 'link building' exercise is:
(a) something that is going to set you directly at odds with the people running the website you create your profile on; and
(b) not something I see working as a long term strategy to get any sort of links, let alone high quality ones.

I would have thought that building links that use the company or brand name is safe as far as the anchor text goes, no matter the type of link. So I'd be surprised if you could hurt a site doing this - but I'd also be surprised if it helped at all.

Hey @aristotle. I mean to say some sites have good Google authority and checking to this, I think it'd be great if I build links to them.

Audreyzack, if your site is important to you, and you are hoping to get more than 6 - 12 months out of it before you get hit, then I urge you to have a good look around THIS forum and try to get a sense of what sort of link building works and what does not. I know there are forums out there still advocating this type of link building techniques. They happen to be the same ones that make money from allowing such services to be offered on their pages.

Suffice to say that Like many here, we carry out a lot of penalty recoveries and the first thing we target to cleanup is forum profile links, followed by bookmarking links, article directories and directory links. Good luck.

Yeah @Shai. I do know about these spamming techniques but doesn't have an idea about other SEO services. That's why i asked about it. Anyways, thanks for letting me know again.
