Sitewide links from non relevant websites are always bad?

I have a bunch of links from external websites that are not relevant to my niche.

Example: in the past my client has some patnership with local soccer clubs, and some sports websites...these sites give a sitewide image links to my website.

What should i do? I'm thinking about contact these websites and ask him to remove the image link and maybe give just one link in homepage or a partner page.

Suggestions are very welcome. :-)

Not sure what scale we are talking about here. Having a few links from non relevant websites is often a non issue especially if the anchor text isn't optimized. I wouldn't worry unless this was on a big scale.

ps I prefer to sponsor related organizations. It's a nice bonus when my charity donations can also get me some decent links.

Is the objection the number of footer fed links? If you are willing to accept one, why not the others, too? I doubt you have any liability for having these links.

Allow (do nothing)
Disavow (g tools)
Deny (.htaccess or similar) But only if you really do not want visitors following those links to your site.

Unless you have a cordial relationship with the other site(s) owner, asking them to remove may or may not work. Use Disavow only if you think these are spam links.

Given the scenario described, I'd do nothing.
