Hi to all community,

I recently got a job in one of the top 5 e-shops of my country.
The total links shown in the webmaster are 1,546,903 most of them are do-follow.
We have an advertisement campaign and 91,401 do-follow links are pointing to a specific page.
Can those links hurt our website ? even If they don't, should I message our advertiser to make them no-follow ?

Thanks a lot

All advertisements should be rel="nofollow".

I agree with fathom that these should be rel="nofollow".

If for some reason that isn't feasible, another option is to disavow them.

What about when these links are directing from skin-banners ?

What PRECISELY is the link for, in a skin-banner?

An advertisement for the skin-creator. Thus rel="nofollow" that as well. Nothing wrong with advertising for customers, users, patrons or just TRAFFIC in general, but using a skin doesn't mean the domain owner vouched for the creator's website... You're simply using a FREE skin ...and demanding PageRank MUST be passed due to that use (in lieu of cash) is a "PAID LINK!"
