Last night I received an email from the UK's largest domain name registrar entitled:

The Real Time Penguin algorithm is coming soon. Here's what to do to prepare.

The blog is dated 12th October 2015:

[123-reg.co.uk...]

Have I missed any discussion here about it?

I assume the link is ok?

It really depends on your definition of "soon". IMHO I would not hold your breath waiting for it but it will eventually happen. Regardless of when it happens, real time penguin will benefit the SEO world. A big problem with penguin is that if you get correctly or incorrectly flagged with bad links, you are penalized till they re-run it and that can be many months. You better pray that you fix your links enough, otherwise you won't be released from the penalty box and have to wait for a second of third update which can turn into being penalized for well over a year. If penguin becomes truly real-time, theoretically you can get penalized today, fix the issue and be ranking again tomorrow which removes much of the terror of penguin.

I'm not saying this article is fear mongering but ... if you are looking to write a click-bait article it is easy to exploit the fear of panda & penguin.

Yep, this is precisely what I was thinking, it would be a massive boost for those who have been affected and are really not sure whether they have fixed their issues.
