I have a dating website that has a blog and I get a ton of spam here I never delete any of those blog posts. I am wondering if that is somehow affecting my main website rankings?

Should I lock it guest?

I think that this could be great opportunity to get backlinks case spammers will share my link all over the place?

You shouldn't allow unmoderated comments or posts to your blog.

I'd agree with fathom. Not only is it likely to encourage worthless comments which make the site look off topic, it could introduce bad links, and your users/customers, if they click on it, might get taken to malware, or other unwanted sites.

This is looking at links in exactly the wrong way. This is not an opportunity. You don't want to get a lot of low quality backlinks. They're not going to help you, and they will most likely hurt. Beyond that, outgoing spam links on your blog, even if nofollowed by default, dilute the quality of your blog.

Conceivably, the introduction of a lot of spammy keywords on the blog could indicate that hackers are intending to hack the site and to target the keyword-rich junk you've allowed to accumulate. I would clean it out.

Also, see this thread....

Google's Matt Cutts: Comments Stuffed With Keywords May Be Seen As A Manipulative Link Scheme

Though the thread got unnecessarily contentious, I think that the discussion about Matt's video suggests that blog operators, if they did allow nofollowed but spammy links to be posted, should be removing those comments from their blogs.
