Google is calling for Trusted Testers for Search, and it suggests you may find it interesting.

At Google, we're constantly working on improving Web-Search as well as our tools, documentation, and services for publishers. We've found that it's really helpful to get input from users as we try things out. If you'd like to join as a tester, feel free to sign up here. We'll get in touch with you as we start working on projects that you might find interesting. Google Calls For Trusted Testers For Search [docs.google.com]

No mention of Salary, maybe money is a dirty word to Google?

I've applied ... tis quite strange, I used to work with Google in the late 90s for nothing, I wonder if the pay's still the same!

I wonder if it means you're allowing Google to use your sites as a "test" for new search updates. That might mean even more artificial and less natural traffic. Really doesn't matter I guess, because natural traffic appears to be dead anyway.

Nope, they're looking for people to test what they're doing for relevancy etc, well, that's my understanding.

Go through the form and see the questions asked, you don't have to submit it.

If there really is no money involved, then surely all they're gonna get is people with a real interest in Google (webmasters, SEOs etc) who are hoping for some sort of peek under the bonnet - hardly your 'average' web user.

I very much doubt anyone will get any secret sauce out of this.
It really should be a user analysis and feedback, if it's meant to be what my understanding of its purpose.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has been accepted into the scheme, and what they are testing. I also wonder if they have to sign a gagging agreement.
