Hello,

I have some questions about how the majestic Analysis websites data with www and without www?

1) If I have website that exist several years and this site have Backlinks from other sites that are referring to the root domain and also to the subdomain and the data is the same in both cases. Why the majestic shows that the subdomain data is more powerful than the date from the root domain? Although the backlinks and the referring domains are the same.

2) Additionally I need to transfer this site to another server what is better option for Seo ? to redirect this website to subdomain with www or root domain without www?

3) And what if I have new website what is better for seo to choose url with www or without www or it doesn’t matter to Google?

Regards!

They have to say something to keep people using their stuff.
It's Majestic, not Google, so who really cares and why?

Yes, pick one.

And what if I have new website what is better for seo to choose url with www or without www or it doesn’t matter to Google?

...it doesn’t matter to Google

If it's a new site, I always go non-www (I don't think you need it anymore)

If it's an existing site that has been around a while, I use whichever one seems to rank better and send more traffic.

Questions about Majestic should probably be posed to Majestic.

Google does not care which one you choose, they just want you to choose one. From my own experience I suggest you take the time to make sure that requests for the non- preferred form go to the preferred form with a 301 rewrite.

There is one more aspect to decide on using www vs non-www domain - COOKIES.

If you use non-www domain or naked domain - all cookies set on example.com will pass on to all sub-domains.

e.g. if tomorrow you want to serve images from cookie-less domain (a standard performance best practice) img.example.com, you might face some problem if cookies are set by you or third-party (including adsense) on example.com. If you here have www.example.com, then this problem will not arise.

From SEO point of view, it doesn't matter. However, I feel CTR will be better for naked domain names if users are aware about your site as they will read the domain name more easily and may click more often.
