One of our sites is showing 100+ URL being blocked on Google webmaster tools in section Blocked Resources Report, due to external JS script used to track affiliates. We reached out the company, who is refusing to take responsibility saying even though the robots.txt on the server where tracker.js is located is blocking google bots, it dose not effect our sits ranking. It would be great to get some views here from the experts.

Hello tkhan and welcome to the forums. You can control the resources on your site, but third party resources are not yours to block or unblock. Since they started offering this information about blocked resources to webmasters, one issue is that shown in reports about your blocked resources are Google's own AdSense scripts. You have no way to open those blocked resources up, so worry about the resources that are on your own site.

Not everything is under your control, and like a lot of other information shown in the GWT Search Console, these reports are of limited value. IMO you should use them to find resources that you do control and take action to make those resources accessible to Google if you want them crawled. Don't worry about off site assets.

You can read previous similar discussions in several threads here such as this one from last March when the reports were first announced: [webmasterworld.com...]
