I didn't see much chatter on here (maybe I missed it?) but did notice over at google product forums a number of reports that in former WMT indexed pages in sitemaps had a sudden drop. We dropped a HUGE amount around 75%. Thought I'd share in case some of us don't check the Sitemaps reporting as religiously as others. I figured many wouldn't notice until the Index Status tools updates (which it does every 7 days).

Barry S. confirmed with Gary @ Google that the drop of indexed pages around June 14th in sitemaps is a Google bug.

Yes, I've been watching this as well. Gotten to the point where I instinctively knew there was something wrong with this reporting feature. A similar thing has been happening with the indexed pages stat but it's not as extreme as with the sitemap indexed pages. Just had a pretty big drop a few days ago (sitemaps) and now it's creeping back up again.

Pro tip: If WMT/Search Console reports a problem, and you investigate and determine you haven't done anything wrong, just ignore them until they go away.
