When watching webmaster hangouts I often hear people talking to John Mueller about emails that they have sent to him.
Is his email address public? Or how can people get in touch with him?

You could try +messaging him on Google+, I've seen him respond to a couple of those.
Or could try posting to his attention at the Google Webmaster forum? I've done that before on a couple of big issues, like when there was a problem with the algo and it was throwing all the local one-boxes.
